Who it is for
People who want a 24B–70B local model already assembled under a known brand name, with dual storage slots and a real Windows PC, and who can live with ROCm / llama.cpp / Vulkan. Useful if you prefer Corsair support over no-name minis. Wrong if your tools assume CUDA, if you need the lowest street price for this silicon, or if you expect discrete-GPU token rates.
What it actually runs
- Comfortable: 24B–32B dense at usable speed on the iGPU. Same class as Framework, EVO-X2, and the other Max+ 395 boxes.
- Possible: 70B-class dense and larger MoE (120B-class reported) on 128GB if you accept that ~256 GB/s is the ceiling. Capacity is the win; decode is not.
- Not the win: training, CUDA-only stacks, or beating a GB10 / 5090 on workloads that already fit in discrete VRAM. Tom’s Hardware found it trailing Nvidia’s GB10 in prompt processing and longer-context generation. Ignore vendor token-rate slides.

Launch prices in 2025 were ~$1,999–$2,299 for 128GB configs. Memory and NAND costs pushed the ticket up. Treat current figures as a snapshot. B&H and other channels sometimes show the base SKU lower.
- Memory is soldered LPDDR5X-8000. Up to 96GB can be allocated to the iGPU. Pick 128GB or do not buy this for large models.
- Same ~256 GB/s bandwidth ceiling as every other Strix Halo mini. Not a Mac Studio or discrete CUDA decode play.
- Dual M.2 slots, dual USB4, 2.5GbE, SD 4.0 reader, internal PSU. Expansion is limited to storage. Chassis opens for SSD swaps.

Honest verdict
The brand-name prebuilt Strix Halo mini. Buy the 128GB config only if the current street ticket still makes sense against Framework, Bosgame, EVO-X2, or HP Z2 Mini. Same bandwidth ceiling as all of them. Price hikes after launch hurt the value case. If you want CUDA capacity, shop Spark / GX10. If you want repairability, get Framework Desktop.
