Same Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and 128GB soldered LPDDR5X as the EVO-X2, in a 41 mm vertical chassis with OCuLink. Higher ticket for the ports and form factor.

What it is
GMKtec’s vertical Strix Halo mini. 16 Zen 5 cores, Radeon 8060S (40 RDNA 3.5 CUs), 128GB onboard LPDDR5X-8000, dual M.2 2280, Windows 11 Pro, native OCuLink (PCIe 4.0 x4). Chassis is roughly 353 × 186 × 41 mm. Same Max+ 395 silicon as the EVO-X2 and Framework Desktop.
Who it is for
People who want the sealed 128GB Strix Halo experience already built, prefer the slim vertical footprint, and will pay for OCuLink eGPU expansion. Wrong if you want to open the box later, if CUDA is non-negotiable, or if the EVO-X2’s lower ticket already covers the same memory and chip.
What it actually runs
Comfortable: 24B–32B dense at usable speed on the iGPU.
Possible: 70B-class dense and larger MoE if you accept that ~256 GB/s is the bandwidth ceiling. Capacity is the win. Decode is not.
Not the win: training, CUDA-only stacks, or beating a discrete 32GB card on models that already fit. Vendor “235B” claims are capacity theater; ignore token-rate slides.
Standout details
Price snapshot 16 Sep 2026, GMKtec US store: from ~$3,800 for the 128GB configuration (listed $3,799.99, was higher at $4,100). Launch window was $3,600 for 128GB + 2TB. X2 128GB still sits lower.
Memory is soldered. 128GB only; no upgrade path.
256-bit LPDDR5X-8000, ~256 GB/s theoretical. Same limiter as every other Max+ 395 cube.
OCuLink is the real differentiator vs EVO-X2. External desktop GPU possible via dock (sold separately; no hot-plug).
2.5GbE, Wi-Fi 7, USB4, HDMI 2.1. Triple-fan cooling; performance mode up to ~140W peak. One-year warranty.
Same chip, same bandwidth, higher ticket than the sealed X2. Buy for the form factor and OCuLink, not new silicon.
Honest verdict
Buy the EVO-X3 if you specifically want the vertical sealed box and OCuLink and the ~$3,800 ticket is acceptable. For the same 128GB Strix Halo silicon at a lower price, look at the EVO-X2 or the repairable Framework Desktop. If you want CUDA, shop Spark / GX10.
